Dear Health Freedom Supporters,

Thank you for the many letters, e-mails, faxes and calls you have already made to your Michigan Representatives.  Currently what we need are more Representatives to co-sponsor HB4789 in order to get it moved into committee hearings.  Please continue to contact your Representatives and the Health Policy Committee members regularly asking them to co-sponsor and support HB4789.  To get a list of Health Policy committee members, you can download it off our website: http://michigannaturalhealthcoalition.org/info

You can find your representative at: http://www.house.mi.gov/mhrpublic/ or through our website:  http://michigannaturalhealthcoalition.org/legislative-info?preview=true&preview_id=263&preview_nonce=729ed4ddaa

We thank all of you who have signed the Michigan Natural Health Coalition petition at change.org.  The petition has finally reached 100 signatures.  We have just renewed it and our next goal is reach 200 signatures.  If you haven’t signed yet, please do so today.  If you are a member of facebook, you can ask your friends to sign by going to http://www.change.org/petitions/michigan-natural-health-coalition-protect-natural-health-freedom-in-michigan , sign-in/log in to change.org, then log in using face book.   This will link your facebook friends to change.org.  You can then ask up to 15 of your friends a day to sign the petition by clicking on the share next to their name.   This is really easy to do and just takes a minute of your time.

A Senate bill has come to our attention which the MNHC board opposes.   You can read the bill at: http://www.legislature.mi.gov/documents/2011-2012/billintroduced/Senate/pdf/2011-SIB-0353.pdf

The way this bill is written will change the definition of driving under the influence to include other substances which could include the use of homeopathics, herbs, and herbal remedies.  Please contact your Michigan Senator to ask them to oppose Senate bill 353.  To find your senator: http://www.senate.michigan.gov/fysenator/fysenator.htm

We appreciate those of you who have donated to the MNHC.  We have not sent out renewals for membership, preferring to save funds to advance the progress of HB4789.  We have several bills needing to be paid in the next few weeks including the website hosting.   Please consider helping us out with a renewal of membership or donation.  You can send donations and renewals to MNHC, P.O. Box 376, Dewitt, MI 48820-0376, or through paypal at: http://michigannaturalhealthcoalition.org/joindonate

Thank You,

The MNHC Board, Jeri, Jim, Mary, Elaine, Anne, Nia and Ray

October 2011

Last week, Wisconsin judge Patrick J. Fiedler ruled against the property rights of cow owners and their right to consume raw milk from their own cows. Plaintiffs included Galyle Loiselle and Robert Karp, who boarded their cows at Mark and Petra Zinniker’s farm so that they could consume raw milk from them, and the Zinnikers. Here is what the judge said in his own words:

  • Plaintiffs [Loiselle, Karp, and the Zinnikers] do not have a fundamental right to own and use a dairy cow or a dairy herd;
  • Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow;
  • Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to board their cow at the farm of a farmer; [and]
  • Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to produce and consume the foods of their choice.

This is the type of action on the part of our government both at the state and federal levels which can and will affect our freedoms and rights.   The MNHC is working to protect your rights to utilize nature for health purposes; which will be a step in the right direction when HB4789 is passed into the “Michigan Consumer health freedom law”. You can read HB4789 at: www.michigannaturalhealthcoalition.org/hb-4789 If you have any questions, please e-mail us at: info@michigannaturalhealthcoalition.org

Every Michigan citizen needs to take an active part in helping us get HB4789 passed; the MNHC board cannot do this by themselves.   What is necessary is a large show of public support for HB4789, which will convince the Health Policy Committee to bring it to a hearing.  The hearing has to be completed before HB4789 will go to the House for a vote. The sooner we can get HB4789 passed in the House of Representatives; the sooner we can begin the process again in the Senate.

Please contact the House Health Policy Committee members today and let them know you support HB4789.   You can find a list of the Health Policy Committee Members at www.michigannaturalhealthcoalition.org/info. Please call, e-mail, mail or fax them and ask them to support HB4789.

In addition please sign the petition at: http://www.change.org/petitions/michigan-natural-health-coalition-protect-natural-health-freedom-in-michigan.

Donations can be made to MNHC at: www.michigannaturalhealthcoalition.org/donate or mailed payable to MNHC to P.O. Box 376. DeWitt, MI 48820-0376

We need everyone’s help and appreciate everything you do.
